D&D: Awesome Custom Gaming Table

 new Dungeons dragons logo

One super fan gets a custom table of his dreams…

The final piece has hand sculpted legs, hand carved wood details, a giant screen for maps, electrical outlets, and drawers… because who doesn’t need more storage?

Take a look…

What would you add to your dream gaming table?

  • Coltcabunny

Would have been nice to have mentioned its an 11 minute video…

    • vladmech

Did they trick you into watching the whole thing…?

I started it and went ‘nope that’s too much.’ and then just skipped forward to check out different stages of the build plus the final product.

If you don’t have 11 minutes to watch a D&D video, then you’re booking yourself too tight.

  • Red_Five_Standing_By

    8:43 for the reveal.

    Sweet table!

    • Iconoc1ast

Thanks for the heads up. Cuts out a lot of the chaff

  • BloodAngel

    I’d take one.

  • Iconoc1ast

Very cool. Seen a similar build on a blog somewhere before. I wonder how difficult it would be to make maps for space hulk, BaC, BoP, silver tower, etc

  • Jared Swenson

Absolutely cringeworthy video, but the table is indeed cool.

  • Shawn

    Pretty awesome.

It seems to me that the guy tasked with creating this awesome table, should’ve asked more questions from the DM nerd, ’cause it’s clear to me that he didn’t really understand the needs of a DM when it comes to the D&D gaming table. Maybe the dude making it could have sat in on a gaming session to see how it works.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the table is neat, but there needs to be a part at one end where the DM puts up his DM screens and has some room for his notes and such. Having the table top all about the digital map doesn’t accomodate this ‘DM space’.

Also, the ‘&’ is a symbol of D&D? It’s neat and all but never really thought of the stylized ‘&’ that way.

Anyways, cool table nonetheless. And funny that the nerd calls it cooler than when his son was born… Haw haw!!

    • The ampersand dragon is a big part of the logo – has been for a long time. It’s totally a symbol of the game. http://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/3531e4dd231ca0f4a6c3232b63ae4ded4300226bd14509eb1ed928abdfbcb528.jpg

No, not always. 1st edition was always the edition that my gaming group played, and that’s the only edition I bought the books for. The stylized ‘&’ wasn’t until 2nd edition, which is why I don’t remember it being a ‘symbol of the game’.

        • Red_Five_Standing_By

It became the symbol of the game in 5th edition, some times with a D before and after it, sometimes not.

But that stylized dragon ampersand has been with the company for decades. it is pretty iconic.

          • dave long island

Looks like they began using the stylised ‘&’ starting with 2nd edition.

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

The DM does not need a screen if he has a shelf and a laptop.

      • dave long island

If you say so. Wouldn’t want to violate any D&D building codes, LOL…

  • Vepr

Very nice. If I ever win the lotto I will dedicate an entire basement to D&D, 🙂
