Overview: Cygnar Command Book

Cyngar Players, come take a look at your new “Field Manual” – It’s Cygnar Command time!

If you’re looking for the most recent rules and consolidated backstory for all things Cygnar then Privateer Press has a book for you:

Just like our Everblight Command Overview, this video covers all the highlights from Cygnar Command. This book contains all the current rules for every model currently available for Cyngar forces. It also has two new theme forces, new warcasters, and rules for the new character warjack Brickhouse.

Now, I’m not going to go over all the new rules and stuff, that’s why people buy these books – you already probably know about that stuff! What I do want to mention is all the cool backstory that is included in each one of these command books. There is a huge portion of this book dedicated to catching you up on all the current events impacting Cygnar. Plus, each and every unit/character/solo/jack has their lore included on their respective pages. To me, that’s worth checking out!

On top of that this book also has painting guides for getting your army into Tabletop ready shape. They even have alternate paint schemes if you want to go that route. The guides are pretty simple and honestly could go into more details, but that’s what their Youtube channel is for.

Overall, if you’re a tournament player, causal reader, or just interested in the forces of Cygnar this is a great book to check out. It’s a great resource to get yourself familiar with the faction and a valuable tool for reading up on your enemy if you aren’t a Cygnar player. So go check it out – it’s available in stores now!

Cygnar Command

Clouds of gun smoke and brilliantly arcing lightning accompany the blue and gold of Cygnar into battle. Beset by enemies on all sides, this great nation stands resolute thanks to its heroic warcasters, advanced warjacks, and stalwart soldiers. Wielding weapons that harness the power of the storm itself and imbued with unshakeable resolve, the proud warcasters of Cygnar march to battle beside the most sophisticated warjacks of the age. Backed by highly trained professional soldiers such as long gunners, trenchers, and the illustrious Sword Knights, the army of Cygnar represents an elite fighting force more than ready to confront any who would are threaten the principles of freedom for which Cygnar stands.

Forces of WARMACHINE: Cygnar Command provides the foundation you need to take up the fight for the Cygnus with:

• Complete rules and profiles for the brave warcasters and cutting-edge warjacks of Cygnar, including two new warcasters and a new character warjack.

• Detailed history and background information, including an in-depth look at Cygnar’s warcasters and warjacks.

• A painting guide full of tips and inspiration to help you create an army as individual as you are.

• Two new theme forces that allow you to create specialized Cygnar armies with specific benefits.

It sounds great. I’m just wondering how much of it is repeated. I imagine the new casters are Jakes, Maddox, and Sturgis.

In sure the story line is brought to the current state. But the unit entries are probably very similar.

Looking inside the books most of it is really for new players. If you are a veteran and have NQ’s for paint schemes and the previous force book, you don’t need it. Not even for fluff, most of the fluff is in novel format: Flashpoint I and II, Blood of Kings, and Wrath of the Dragon Father are good places to start. I like it this way because you get way more out of novel than a forcebook. Not saying that there is no fluff in the current ones but you are not gong to find anything earthshattering if you have previous ones.

NQs are great too, alot of fluff in those. For a quick run down, Cygnar is a war aggressor due to Vinter’s son marrying the last heir of Lael, Goreshade was made into a living person by Scyrah after she killed all the revenant with a wave of her hand and he is now a living model soon to be released due to Nyssor marking him for greatness, Nyss and Iosians are chill and work together, Khador is feeling the pressure from Protectorate and Skorne, dwarves are clearly the most powerful and well positioned army but their secret service is investigating Everblight due to him messing with dwarven towns, Cyriss cult are present in Zu, Trollbloods live either up north or in the archepelgo where Croak hunters and Totem hunters come from and may get some king kongish models, the new Caine is no longer a Cygnar model (he left that noise after failing to kill vinters bastard child), and the new Magnus warcaster unit will be Cyganarian, Circle, Cryx, and Everblight are figuring out what to do about the last debacle from 2 years back, and the IKs have shifted from (basically a combo of the 100 years war, Cold War, and War Against Terrorism of our timeline) to the Age of Exploration and the people from Zu who are very backward technologically are nervous, but they have valuable resources for warjack production and you know….dwarves may help out with issue at a price.

            Thanks for the run down.

          Thanks marxlives

Well, they are just “up to date rule book” tbh, not that useful for vets but REALLY nice for new players.

PP is nailing it when it come to new player experience.

Is this the same book I bought that doesn’t have any Trenchers in it, or is this a different book?
