The GW US Lucky 13’s campaign continues this coming Saturday, November 8 with the sixth national game event, Stand Fast! Some additional good news, the Lucky 13’s campaign is being extended beyond November 8 till the end of the year, so those of you with a few blocks left to fill on your Lucky 13’s card will have a few more chances to acquire a full thirteen stamps and earn your Lucky 13’s badge. Visit your local participating game shop for details and schedule information regarding events. Remember, you can also earn a Lucky 13’s stamp when you purchase Apocalypse Battle Formation sets or Direct Battle Formation Deals (one per month) and participating stores host a variety of events that allow you to earn stamps. If you wish to learn more about the Lucky 13’s, visit the GW US website events section for full details of what it’s all about, how to participate, how to earn your Lucky 13’s badge and more. It’s time once again to bring those super-heavies to war!

I’m always torn as to which side to play on for these Lucky 13’s Apocalypse events. Chaos Marines are always my favorite forces and with three Brass Scorpions painted and a massive collection of Chaos Terminators, Chaos Dreadnoughts and such, it’s easy to jump in on these large multi-player events with just a few models and have a great time. However, after painting both an Arkurian Pattern Shadowsword and Stormblade (see picture at top) earlier this year along with a Land Raider Terminus and my Armorcast Warhound, I have a fun and finished super-heavy support force to field for the Imperials all nicely done in the livery of the Cult Mechanicus. Unfortunately, none of my Chaos Baneblades are painted yet. In the last game I ran my Brass Scorpions and Mechanicus force together for the side of Chaos, my Mechanicus force turning traitor for the day as the “bad guys” were in need of players to balance the game. I may bring a bit of both and see which side needs help more. I’ll have fun as always either way. Unpainted as it may be, I might give my now nearly finished Tower of Skulls a try just to see it on the field of battle for the first time. Khorne needs more skulls!
