Goatboy here again reviewing another new plastic kit from GW – The Bloodcrushers. Lets hit it!

As you know, I have built a crap ton of metal crushers so with the coming of the new plastic kit I was a much happier camper. I have built two of the kits so far and have found them to be a much more enjoyable experience then the old metal kit they are replacing.

As with my earlier Plastic Daemon Prince review I will rate the model based on Value, Look/Form, and Paintability. With our GW dollar getting smaller and smaller finding the best kit for my hard earned money is something I look at whenever buying any type of kit.

Value
Here is where I think the kit really shines as for once we get all the options for the unit in one shiny box. When have we seen GW give you all the wargear for a unit in one box? We have started to see it more and more lately and I am hoping GW looks at these kits for the future of any new boxed sets. I don’t know about you, but I would really like to see GW add in those combi weapons for every 10 marines you buy. This kit gives you all the wargear options you need (musician, icon, fury guy) as well as options to not create those options if you wish in the kit. Plus the old metal way meant you had to spend $90 to get 3 guys and now you only have to spend $53.75. There are a ton of extra heads which would look good on Dreadnoughts or Daemon Princes too. In fact it would be a neat add on to make Defilers more Brass Scorpion like.

Look/Form
The biggest question is, did you like the metal designs for this model? If you did then you will like the designs for these ones. There are slight tweaks and changes within the model that give each one its out unique form. I was pretty happy they had the chain mailed option on one of the crushers, meaning you have a great option to create fully plastic lords for your Warriors of Chaos army. I am a big fan of the model so I am a little biased about the look and form of it. I think Juggers look awesome and are really great on the table top. Overall I am extremely happy with the model’s look and think they are a great addition to the Daemon army.

8 out of 10 I Like Them so There Stars!

Paintability
All in all I think the models work well enough to paint. There are not a lot of hidden holes that are a pain in the butt to get too. The armor plates and chaos forms are easy to get too and with all the deep grooves and downward shapes make for a great model to use washes on to create different effects. The model also has different forms that let you attack painting it in interesting ways. You have flesh like forms as well as hard and metallic pieces to the model. The Juggernaut just looks cool and really screams of the warp and the destructive nature within.

7 out of 10 High Fives for Duke Nukem Coming Out!!!

So there is my review. This model needed to come out years ago as I was building my Space Goats Jugger riders. In fact I will probably be redoing them in plastic as I just find plastic to be much more fun to deal with. And keep on top of it as we all know models will fall. Still 3 models for under 60 bucks is great in my mind especially when we have to look at where our money is going right now.

I went with a crazy flesh color for the Bloodletter as I felt it was a bit creepier then the red. I also went with more metallic too as I think it would look pretty neat.  So what do you guys think if the kit?
