So I’ve talked before about using large squads of standard Terminators in lists as a viable alternative to Close Assault Termys. Lets see what might be done to shore them up.

So right off the bat, lets agree that with many viable delivery systems and the ability to fight in double the amount of assault phases compared to shooting, the player community has been gravitating to the hammer boys en masse.  I can certainly say that at the big tourneys I’ve attended I rarely see standard termys at top tables at this time.

My question is twofold:
1-What is the most unattractive part of standard termys that makes them such a hard sell in 5th edition?

2-What would you do to make then a true viable choice that would make you really agonize over choosing between them and their assault brethren?

Have at it folks.  I’ll throw out the first idea off the top of my head – special issue ammunition.
