A piece in which we discover a subtle yet dastardly trick hidden within the strategiums of High Commorragh.

After the Da Boys tournament we had a long trip back, a lot of layover’s and a three hour drive to get home. I was lucky this time as I had a lot of time to sit down and work up lists since I had help from Brent to baby sit Goatboy and by babysitting I mean Brent babysitting the Goat 24/7. I dug my nose in the book and wanted to work out some ideas and saw a nice little gem that I skimmed over before. It was Bloodbrides. Earlier I marked off Blood brides because of their cost and you could get normal Wyches that scored so why would you buy BloodBrides?

Well, for one BloodBrides are going to be a specialized unit and there is no way around it but the nice thing is they can have a special weapon for every three Brides. My first was 9 Brides with three shardnets and an Archon with a Clonefield. That is the perfect character killer or even squad killer. If you attach three shardnets next to that Special Character and they are down to one or two attacks and then either the Archon or Urien has a clone field it will have a high chance of negating all of their attacks if they wish to target the IC. If they don’t they are still down to one attack which is great. Well here comes Urien with him just regenerating a wound every round that he loses and then comes with a Clonefield – its great!

That being said here is a list I worked out to use the above concept.

“You Can’t Touch This”
Urien Rakarth

Hekatrix, BloodBrides x9
-With three Shard Nets and a Agonizer
-Raider with Aethersails

Archon with Agonizer, Combat drugs, Clone field and Phantasm Launcher

8 Incubi in a Raider with Aethersails

10 man Wrack unit with two Liquifier guns and a Raider

Depending on what army you are playing you could start in reserve and move on the board 24 inches and put yourself in the position for the next turn assault. You have two hammer units the Archon with the Incubi and Urien with the brides. The Brides start with Urien to give them FNP and depending on how many pain tokens you get your Wracks may have Furious Charge when they start. I would send Urien to go after the biggest unit to just tie them up for all eternity and take out special or MC with his Ichor gauntlet. Send the Incubi to play clean up and go after medium to heavy infantry or specialized units and let the Wracks hit regular infantry.

I would say this list could have a hard time with Guard, like a majority of the Dark Eldar lists out there but if you play smart and put a lot of pressure on a Guard player they will have a incredible hard time breaking and stopping you getting to their lines.

Let me know what you guys think and I’ll see you on the tabletop.
