Hordes: New Releases Unboxed

4 Minute Read
May 29 2013

You’ve already seen the Mammoth! Now lets look at the rest of this month’s new releases for Hordes.

Lets start with the new Tharn Blood Pack.

Inside the box it’s the usual bag of bits.

And here they are.

Here’s a close-up of a couple torsos…

And some heads and arms.

The Troll Bouncer here is not a new release, but another plastic resculpt.

Unsurprisingly he shares a torso head and legs with

Here’s a close-up of all the pieces that are unique to the Bouncer. Except the steel codpiece. That comes with the axer too. I just had to show it again because hey – steel codpiece.

And here’s our new guy mostly assembled side by side with my old metal one. The transition to plastic has allowed the new one to get a little beefier. It’s also allowed for a significant price decrease. At $18.99 this new plastic bouncer is a full eight bucks cheaper than the old metal one. His pose is also a bit less insane. You can’t tell, because I went to the trouble of reposing mine slightly, but the old metal Bouncer held his shield at a rather extreme upwards slant. Many theories have been proposed as to why he was fending off an attack from such a high angle, but in hindsight it seems like he knew Colossals were coming long before anyone else.

Ahh… the infamous santa Lylith. I really like this model. And since I don’t play Legion I think it’s only fair that Trollbloods get a Madrak 3 on a chariot pulled by buffaloes. Just sayin’…

One half of this box is completely empty. It seemed absurd at first, to put all this into such a big box, but then I realized that hefty 120 mm base wouldn’t have fit into anything smaller.

That’s a lot of pieces, and all of them metal. And look – two different poses on the reindeer!

Here’s a close-up to show some of the detail. I just wish they hadn’t split the carriage right down the center. It won’t be fun to have to green stuff the gap along all that filigree.

Here’s the lady herself.

Lots of sharp pointy things here.

And a last shot of reindeer heads plus Lylith’s bow and arrow arm.

~ Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Which one of these new releases were you looking forward to? Oh and if you’re wondering where the Reptile Hounds went, Muffinman ran off with them before I could get their picture. That’s how bad he wanted to write an article about them!
