You would think that half the 40K writers out there blog next to the fainting couch the way they hyperventilate over every little change to the GW website…

There has been a whole lot of useless talk of late over every hint and murmur that someone told someone’s cousin regarding the impending updating of Games Workshop’s website.  Other folks keep an eye on every little change in items on the GW webstore like a flea-market fortune teller.

“EGADS! Kroot have dissapeared from the Australian GW site for 48 hours, then reappears, but are still showing on the UK site!  What does it mean?”

Sound familiar?

Well here’s the deal – WHO CARES?!

On the Webstore
All companies update their websites, and you can bet GW will do it for the same reason every other business does – to sell more products in higher quantities for less (less for them, not you).

What I can guarantee you won’t be seeing is any amazing piece of website technology to make you scream in ecstasy and give GW direct withdrawal access to your checking account.  It’s a website people – and it won’t be anywhere near as sophisticated or advanced as Amazon.com. I guarantee it.

So you can calm your breathing a bit.  When it arrives shortly – it will arrive. It will still be selling GW products.

On Stocklevels
Now regarding those stock levels, we hear there unfortunately is no “secret recipe” to use disappearing products to gauge future releases.

What folks are instead seeing is simply an updated and more adaptive GW dynamically pulling down and putting back up products as they go in and out of acceptable stock levels.  That in turn lowers things like back orders and grumpy waiting customers.  And no retailer/manufacturer wants those.

So long story short…

A new GW website is indeed coming, but don’t pay too much attention because you’ll just twist yourself in knots over nothing.

Its not the medium for commerce that is important here, its the minis and games themselves.  Always has been – always will. GW is cranking out so many products to fast it’s dizzying!   Go play some games!

Now onto the Ogryn of next week and beyond.  That’s something to talk about!
