The high pitched scream of xenos skimmers shattered the stillness of the ancient ruins of Ceara Tercius’ capital city. The agile xenos craft were a kaleidoscope of riotous colours as they sped through the vine covered avenues and thoroughfares in line astern at a speed that rendered them nought but colourful blurs to human eyes… but that which stalked them was not human. Not anymore. Watch Commander Vigilans observed the progress of the Eldar column from the shadowed interior of a ruined Ministorum building choked with creepers. The Eldar’s panoply confirmed their allegiance to Corsairs of the Sun Blitz Brotherhood, the very target of Vigilans’ mission. For years the Corsairs had raided scattered Imperial settlements and shipping in the Manalus sub-sector and this had drawn the attention of the Ordo Xenos who had in turn sent in their chamber militant, the Deathwatch. Vigilans’ orders had been succinct, destroy the raiders but take a live specimen back to Watch Station Tiamat for “debriefing”. Why the Inquisition had placed such high importance on these raiders was a question that vexed Vigilans. The deployment of not just one Deathwatch Kill-Team, but five with specialist and dreadnought support also seemed to be grossly exaggerated for the mission they were to undertake. He had toppled Xenos pocket empires and rendered entire species extinct with less. Clearly more was at stake here than was apparent

Another great table set up by the team using our new battlefield jungle terrain made by our friends at JMD Scenery We really couldn’t wait to start! Bring on the Special Mission bring on the Ambush!

Deathwatch Chapter Tactics After a couple of weeks of discussion with the team and researching on the internet for ideas we decided to go with the following Chapter Tactics for the Deathwatch – Stealth – Preferred Enemy: Xenos – Night Vision (Ignores Night fighting) This really went well with all the Deathwatch fluff, So lets see how they do smile emoticon

The convoy slowly moves up the jungle with all troops deployed on foot

The Techmarine and Dreadnought deploy below the bridge and will try and flank the Wave Serpent.

Different view from the same squad as they prepare to ambush attack the Eldar convoy in typical Deathwatch fashion. ‘Suffer Not The Alien to Live’

Turn 1 (Deathwatch) “Brothers!!! Fire at will” Mark starts moving is Deathwatch into better positions some movements were even less than an inch but crucial when firing. Some movements also got the Veterans into rapid fire range

SN Battle Reports Turn 1 (Deathwatch) The Lascannon and Plasma Cannon fire at the rear of the Fire Prism Plasma Cannon gets hot (haha) but luckily Mark passes his armour save. He then shoots his lascannon and it looked like a penetrate but I easily pass my jink save which means I will only be able to snap fire next turn.

Turn 1 (Eldar) Well that was a good round for the Deathwatch! In true Deathwatch manner they have really hit hard with their convoy ambush but I still had quite a lot on the table and everybody knows how hard Eldar hit back when firing at you. I took my time to see what I should go for and where my units should move to. Firstly I moved my Fire Prism to an area where my rear armour wasn’t exposed.

SN Battle Reports Turn 1 (Eldar) My Jetbikes fire at the Vanguard Veterans and finally one is slain! Had to be a Ultramarine lol Those ruins plus stealth are really saving mark from more deaths as I am rolling quite a lot of 6’s with the bladestorm rule
