Come take a closer look at the Mk. IV Legion Tactical Marines in The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth

Hey BoLS Readers, AdamHarry back with more Betrayal at Calth coverage. We already did a quick overview of all the contents and now we’re taking a closer look at the models in the box. In this video we’re focusing on just the Mk. IV Legion Tactical Marines.

Stay tuned till the end of the video for a 360° of an assembled Marine!

As far as the sprues and build goes with these new plastic Mk. IV kits – they are great. If you’ve ever built a non-snap fit Space Marine you’ll be very familiar with this Mk. IV Marines. When I assembled the Marine I went for a basic Tactical Marine without any extra equipment. I like the slight change to the bolter bit as well, you no longer have to cut of the handle as the fist is part of the bolter. You just glue the fist to the arm/fore arm and you’re ready to go!

And while I didn’t add any extras you can go nuts with this kit. There are tons of extra grenades, pouches, close-combat weapons (knives), and other doodads to add. You also have the option to build 3 special weapons (Plasmagun, Melta, Flamer) and two Heavy Weapons (Missile Launcher and Heavy Bolter). Oh and those special weapons/heavy weapons aren’t the same as the other Space Marine kits, they are the old school variants, but they work with and are interchangeable with the latest GW Plastic Marine kits.

I haven’t even talked about the combi-weapon options, the close combat weapons available, shoulder pads or the legs/torsos – but that’s all in the video. Overall, these Tactical Marines go together as smoothly and as cleanly as the previous kits and they look great doing it! They are very crisp and sharp with a very little in the way of mold lines – probably because they are fresh molds… If you really wanted to go all out you can also check out the Forge World Horus Heresy Upgrade Packs – they currently have 16 Legions available (sorry Thousand Sons and Space Wolves).
