Hey all, Bahkara here for this week’s reviews!  There is plenty of talk about GW’s return to social media and possible organized play.

We also see a podcast thought dead come back to life with an announcement of new ownership and direction. That being said, lets get on with the reviews!

40K Radio Countdown Episode 6 – After over a year long absence the show is back! After a brief intro and  “why we’ve been gone” segment, they go into a typical Games Workshop rant, but that’s not important. What is significant is that the show has been sold to Geek Nation Tours. After this announcement they discuss the future of the show, they are looking for a new host, and the future of the new Freebooters Network. Not sure how it will work if you have to pay for the network but I’m curious to see where it leads.

Independent Characters Episode 131 – This episode the subjects are garage gaming and basic hobby tools that you need. They go over the different ways of organizing your garage gaming space, the differences of that type of play compared to others, and the benefits of playing a garage game. The following segment is a bit more useful for those just starting out in the hobby. They discuss all the different tools that you should have in your hobby tool chest. It’s a very helpful segment for new and veteran hobbyists and can serve as a checklist of essential tools that you need for the hobby. I need a lot of them.

Overlords Episode 184 – The gang continues their look at the traitor legions of the Horus Heresy with a look at the Word Bearers. The go over their specific rites pf war and some of their special rules and how all this is used on the tabletop. Nice relaxed overview of for new players to learn about the legion. They even spot a typo in the book!

Combat Phase Episode 138 – The author parade continues with David Annandale this week. Nice discussion of Age of Sigmar and writing for a new setting. If you’re an Annandale fan, yu like hearing an author’s thoughts on their writing process, or just enjoy Age of Sigmar, then this episode is a good one to download.

Forge the Narrative Episode 139 – This week the gang continue their talk about target priority. Nice continuation of the discussion that then leads to other discussion more competitive gaming in focus. Nice episode, combined with the previous one, that really does help your game.

Signals from the Frontline – Always a good listen for new and rumors on 40K and other miniature games in the industry.
