Fasten your seatbelts – a classic from the Old World is reborn in the Age of Sigmar. Prepare your wallet!
We are quickly approaching the holidays and GW is knocking out yet more boxed sets.
This is a fantastic box set filled with Citadel miniatures and a book telling the story of the Skaven Warlord Ripsnikk’s attempt to take the Dawnspire from the Swifthawk Agents who protect it.
- Complete Age of Sigmar Rules
- 2 Warscroll Battalions
- 2 sets of Pitched Battle Profiles, one of each for each force.
- 74 miniatures split into two forces:
- Supplied with round and square bases for each model
These models were previously only available in the Warhammer Fantasy Island of Blood box set. (Originally shipped August 2010)
- 1 High Warden
- 1 Archmage
- 10 Swordmasters
- 10 Spireguard
- 5 Reavers
- 1 Skaven Warlord
- 1 Warlock Engineer
- 1 Packmaster
- 2 units of 20 Clanrats
- 2 Rat Ogors
- 1 Poisoned Wind Mortar Weapon Team
- 1 Warpfire Thrower Weapon Team
This should build nicely on the 4 Age of Sigmar boxed sets from last week:
Age of Sigmar Battleforce Boxes
Bloodbound Slaughterstorm: $170
Sylvaneth Darkroot Wargrove: $170
Ironjawz Thunderfist: $170
Stormcast Sigmar’s Vengeance: $170
Spire of Dawn Thoughts
A few points here:
The inclusion of both square and round bases makes me think this might be a rebox of existing Island of Blood inventory.
The pricepoint is INSANE for that many minis, including the very, very well done High Warden on Eagle. That works out to $1.08 per mini, many of which are cavalry and/or heroes!
I don’t know if the rules in this box will be identical, but remember that last year GW put out a Warscroll PDF for Island of Blood. It’s still out there.
