Codex Ad-Mech: What We Know
Codex Ad-Mech is coming soon, so it’s time to round up all the info that’s out there on the Priesthood of Mars.
First up we have the information gathered from both GW and early peeks at the White Dwarf. Here’s the basics:
Codex Adeptus Mechanicus: September 16th $40
Belisarius Cawl: September 16th $55
The codex will combine Skitarii, Cult Mechanicum and Knights Questoris into a single unified army. (YAY)
Full datasheets or all units
Wargear & Arcana Mechanicum (artifacts)
Forge World Dogmas (faction rules for 7 Forge Worlds)
Slight rules variations for Ad-Mech knights compared to their Knight Household counterparts.
No New models.
While there have been rumors swirling for months of further Robots and a Flyer kit, they don’t appear to be coming this time around.
Forgeworld of course has a giant line of amazing Mechanicum tanks , vehicle and robots such as the Triaros conveyor – but alas, the entire range is restricted to 30K and has no 40K 8th Datasheets. That stings…
Note however that Forgeworld does have rules for all those exotic Knights. We will have to wait and see how their( Imperium, Questor Imperialis, Household ) keywords will interact with the new codex.
Cawl is making his return a la carte at a pretty steep price compared to the cost of the original Triumvirate set.
I would expect a refinement and possible expansion of the Canticles table from Index: Imperum2.
My big question is what will be different about Ad-Mech KNights compared to their Household counterparts. Stats? Wargear/weapon options? Canticles?
Based on the Chaos Marines and Grey Knight codexes, I would expect one or two new units that use existing models. I’ll leave it up to you to divine what they might be.
~What new units would you hope to see in the codex that only use existing models?
