FFG: Trust in the Force, & Arkham Horror Arrives
Three new products full of adventure and terror are out this week from FFG. Let’s dive in:
Trust in the Force $14.95
Trust in the Force is the fifth Force Pack in the Alliances cycle for Star Wars™: The Card Game.
While the mighty mechanical feet of the Galactic Empire’s AT-ATs and AT-STs trample across the galaxy, the defenders of freedom hide themselves on desert planets and in the icy wastes, biding their time until they can mount a critical counterattack. The Jedi haven fallen. Alderaan has been destroyed. But these Scouts, Leaders, Troopers, and Force Users still have hope for a brighter future. They still trust that if they can rally new recruits—and spur new worlds to action—they can still win the war.
With its sixty new cards (including two copies each of five new objective sets), Trust in the Forcepushes the Alliances cycle closer to its climactic conclusion. Even as it continues to develop the cycle’s support for decks that feature two or more affiliations, Trust in the Force follows the march of General Veers and his Walkers across the frozen surface of Hoth. It lends support to those massive war machines with a new Scum objective set that protects and enhances your Vehicles. And it peers into the hidden corners of Hoth and Tatooine, where Jawas, Rebel Troopers, and Jedi Masters all work in secret to rally new forces against Imperial tyranny.
The Dirge of Reason $14.95
The Dirge of Reason is an Arkham Horror novella by Graeme Davis that throws you headfirst into the roaring twenties where tragedy has struck the small town of Arkham, Massachusetts. During an apparent freak accident, the entire New England Virtuosi Orchestra perished and federal agent Roland Banks has been sent all the way from Washington D.C. to investigate. The official report reads, “Explosion, cause unknown.” The house looks like a howitzer shell hit it, but nobody knows why and the local authorities weren’t encouraged to look very hard. Could it have been bootleggers? A mob hit? Or something more sinister, something unnatural?
Now, you can aide Roland Banks with his investigation. Within the pages of The Dirge of Reason, you will find full-color inserts of the agent’s case notes as well as all the evidence at his disposal, including letters, newspaper clippings, and official reports. The hardcover novella also comes with four exclusive cards for Arkham Horror: The Card Game, including an alternate art version of Roland Banks, that enable players to build a distinct deck for the federal agent based on his experiences within the story.
Black Stars Rise $14.95
Your investigations have led you to the island commune of Mont Saint-Michel, as brooding, dark clouds cover the sky. A storm is coming—and it’s unclear if our world will survive.
