First Look At Upcoming Abstract Strategy Game ‘Senshi’
Finding a balance of strength, agility, honor and wisdom are essential to being a Senshi. But only the best can become the new master.
Senshi is a quick-playing abstract strategy game with tile stacking mechanics. Players take the role of warrior-monks studying and training to become the temple’s next master.
On each player’s turn, they choose one of three actions: Study, Train or Test.
Studying allows a player to take an entire stack of tokens from the middle of the play area and place it on their Training Card. Each player can only hold 3 stacks on their Training Card at one time.
Training allows a player to take one tile from the top of any stack and take it into their hand. When players Train, they can take a tile from a stack in the middle of the table, from their own Training Card, or from an opponent’s Training Card.
Testing allows players to place a tile from their hand into their scoring pile on the bottom of the Training Card. However, when this happens, every player takes every tile of that color from the top of each stack on their Training Card and scores those tiles as well.
The game continues until the last stack is taken from the central play area. Once this occurs, there is one final round of play and whichever player has the largest scoring pile is chosen as the next master and wins the game!
