The Nighthaunt is a sinister Age of Sigmar faction that is coming to tables near you. They are the incorporeal force of ghostly wraiths raised by Nagash to haunt us all!

This past weekend we got a look at a ton of new stuff coming down the pipe from Games Workshop. They previewed a ton of new miniatures and more. We got some early looks at the new Nighthaunts but now were are getting a better look at this faction of ghosts.

In the Mortal Realms, the dead do not rest easily. Those departed souls too wicked to join Sigmar and too fearful and craven to join Chaos find themselves in the kingdoms of Nagash, the God of Death. Appointing himself their eternal jailor, Nagash arms the Nighthaunt with a portion of his power and sends them forth into the realms to prosecute his will, turning their immense bitterness and fury at the living into a weapon of war.

All New Miniatures

Undead players have been waiting for quite some time for something new to collect, and the Nighthaunt faction is bursting with new ghosts to load-up on.

Chainrasp Hordes

Not all souls are deemed worthy to become Stormcast Eternals. And not all souls are evil enough to be swayed to chaos. For those in the middle, these “vast, unhappy hordes” are prisoners of Nagash. (Un)fortunately for them, Nagash has a use for these poor souls – they become his Chainrasp Hordes!

Glaivewraith Stalkers

The Glaivewraith Stalkers are comprised of those who “hunted men for sport and pleasure.” They are still huntsmen, and they can pursue their prey indefinitely as they float eerily onward.

Grimghast Reapers

The souls of the plotters, planners, schemers an assassins have been turned into frenzied murders by Nagash. These Reapers are blind to the foes they face, indiscriminately slashing around the battlefield as their murderlust pulls them.

Lord Executioner

For the mortal souls who took too much pleasure in carrying out executions of the innocent (or pretty much anyone brought to the chopping block), Nagash has a new task for them. They go for and bring Nagash’s justice to the enemies of Shyish.

Guardian of Souls

The Nighthaunts have a Wizard, and the Guardian of Souls is it! The Guardian acts as a focus for the wrath of the ghosts as it helps to draw toward their prey.

A New Knight of Shrouds

The new and improved mounted Knight of Shrouds is perfect for keeping up with your fast-moving cavalry like Hexwraiths or “other fast-moving Nighthaunt units that might be on the way…”

Spirit Torment

GW also teased a warscroll for them as well – the Spirit Torment. These cruel ghosts excel at capturing souls. Rules-wise, they help keep your forces in the fight by regenerating lost wounds for units. They also help your forces to hit better and have a pretty nasty attack to boot!

New Rules

One of the cool, things about the Nighthaunts is their entire army is Ethereal. Which means they ignore your opponent’s rend stat! Combined with the fact that most of the models have a 4+ save, you’ve got a surprising durable force.

Frightful Touch is a new ability that GW has also hinted at. These Ghosts are going to be able to “tear through foes with a deluge of mortal wounds” which is pretty scary sounding. Ignoring your opponent’s Rending and bypassing their armor with Mortal Wounds? What out for these undead spirits!

Who you gonna call?
