Godslayer by Megalith Games

Godslayer is a fairly obscure skirmish game that has been around for a few years now, and Megalith Games is currently looking to reinvigorate the line with a new range of starter boxes. The game is set in the world of Calydorn, and draws heavily from the cultures and mythologies of various Bronze Age civilizations. The game currently features six factions, which include the Halodynes (Greeks), Banebrood (Beastmen), Mortans (Romans), Wyldfolk (Celts), Troglodytes (Mongols), and Nordgaard (Norse), with factions based on the Persians and Stygians coming soon. You can grab the rulebook and a faction starter box of your choice for €55/£48/$65. Alternatively, you can get a two-player battlebox that contains a starting warband for the Halodynes and Banebrood for €104/£92/$124.

EXO- Mankind Reborn by Plast Craft Games

EXO is a cooperative survival game where a team of four heroes must work together to restore humanity. The development of EXO energy brought about catastrophic changes to the weather and landscape of Earth, forcing humanity to move underground to survive. Now, 700 years later, humanity has sent a team of Chosen Ones and their EXO-powered animal companions to the surface in an attempt to use the very energy that destroyed the Earth to restore it to its pre-cataclysm form. Explore the desolate wastes to find resources, pre-cataclysm technology and artifacts, and establish shelters to fend off the hordes of ravenous, hyper-evolved insects that now rule the Earth. You can get the entire game for €79/$94.

Ironrise by Ironrise Games

Ironrise is competitive, team-based RPG adventure board game set in the steampunk world of Spirel. A team of heroes face off against a team of villains in a series of challenges as they race to score the most points, or outright kill their rivals. Challenges come in the form of wagers, where players bet cards and chips face-down before a final reveal that determines the winner. The game can be played 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3, and each player controls a unique character with a special ability that can alter the challenges. Ironrise Games were generous enough to send me a pre-production copy, so expect a first impressions article sometime next week. A copy of the game will cost you $49 during this campaign.

Empyreal by Level 99 Games

Empyreal is a railway-building board game set in a fantasy world undergoing an industrial revolution. Players choose one of six railroad companies as they build lines across a modular, hex-based board. Gather resources and complete contracts to gain capital to invest in better train components, new technology, and savvy specialists that can improve your capabilities. The standard game will set you back $65, but there is also a deluxe version available with upgraded tokens and components for $99.

Legends of Signum: Battle For Vallor by Signum Games

Finally, we come to Legends of Signum, a skirmish game that combines miniatures and cards in one package. The Free City of Vallor is currently under siege by the zealous crusaders of the Holy Grypharim Empire, and their angelic allies. Players begin a game by choosing their hero and constructing a city out of building cards that give them resources and abilities each turn. Spend your resources to play cards that summon characters to the battlefield as you gradually build up an army to fight your opponent. You can get into the game with a friend by purchasing the Core Box for $150, which includes the rules and starting armies and decks for both factions.
