If you’re looking to play the most poisonous warbands in Warcry, take a closer look at the Splintered Fang

When it comes to going all out on poison, The Splintered Fang warband hails from the Realm of Life but specialized in death. Here’s their background:

“The Splintered Fang hail from the choking jungles of Invidia, in the Realm of Life. Tempted with power by mysterious entities known as the Coiling Ones, these warrior-cultists use all manner of vile poisons in battle, as well as slithering swarms of serpents. In the Eightpoints, warbands of the Splintered Fang seek remnants of their long-slain deity, Nagendra, as well as new toxins derived from the Bloodwind Spoil’s deadliest beasts.”

Well today, GW is showing us all a bit more about these fast moving serpents. Let’s take a better look at what these warriors  do on the tabletop.

Keypoints

They Are Balanced – They are solid all rounders, that are not specialized like the Iron Golems are for example. If the proper hands, this means you have no obvious weaknesses that can be exploited.

They Are Sneaky – The faction is balanced, but uses their poison abilities to debuff enemy abilities and power themselves up at key moments to turn the tide of battle.

They LOVE Snakes – These folks thros snakes at people – nuff said.

Key Fighters

First up we have the leader of the Warband. Known as “Serpent Caller” this character is quick, has solid attacks including ranged options. He hits hard and had the hitpoints to take a shot and come back for more.

The next character is a Venomblood. This guy has a solid ranged attack, and a very nice defense 5. He’s a solid frontline fighter and is a bargain for the points.

Abilities

Onto faction abilities. Fanged Buckers are great little ways to sneak in some extra damage on top of a normal attack. It’s normally just an extra point of damage, but you can get lucky a third of the time and throw several extra points. It’s a handy little trick, especially coming off your defensive fighters who enemies may underestimate.

Paralyzing Venom is the big hallmark of the faction. It adds multiple damage bonuses to a character’s attacks, (up to 6), and if you’re lucky may immobilize an enemy, leaving them easy prey for your remaining models. The fangs of the serpent bite deeply indeed.
