The Kill Teams of the new starter set have some devastating firepower and tactics–but you can go beyond the box with both Commanders and Elites.

Kill Team’s new starter set brings the Fangs of Ulfrich and Advance Team Starpulse into the spotlight–but when you start adding Elites and Commanders to the mix, you can take these two kill teams to the next level. Here’s a look at some of the rules that power these two Kill Teams and a couple of different ways you can step up your game and go beyond the box.

The Reivers of the Fangs of Ulfrich can adapt to pretty much any situation, because that’s what Primaris do. Kit them out with a few extra Primaris, like an Intercessor who brings the Angel of Death tactic to help you punch through harder targets.

Or grab a Primaris Captain from the Commanders expansion and find no end of rerolls to bring about an early end to harder enemies.

Call of the Wolf

Play with the Elites expansion and gain special subfaction rules that match your Chapter. If you want to use your Wolfy wiles, for instance, you’ll be able to use Hunters Unleashed.

Onto the T’au

Meanwhile on the T’au front, they have access to everyone’s favorite cat toy, markerlights. Which work a little differently in Kill Team:

Combine that with a Cadre Fireblade out of the Commanders expansion and you’ve got a devastating fusillade of firepower ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Or start playing dirty and bring the advanced technology of the T’au to your tabletop and just straight up bring a Battlesuit to an infantry fight.

Want to use some of those subfaction rules? The Farsight Enclaves offer some interesting tricks to surprise your foe with the most unexpected of T’au tactics:

Not running away when they get up close and personal.

These are just a few ways to expand your Kill Teams…how will you fill out your roster? Let us know in the comments!
