Warhammer 40K: White Scars Rules Preview
The Sons of the Great Khan are here from Games Workshop with a brand new rules preview!
Do you want that sweet taste of victory? Well maybe you should start hanging out with Kor’sarro Khan and the White Scars:
Lightning quick strikes that cripple the enemy and smash their lines are what the White Scars are all about and with a brand new Space Marine Codex AND their own Supplement, you can bet the White Scars are ready to bring the heat!
Space Marines are getting access to their new Doctrines and some chapters favor some over the others. For the White Scars, they really like the Assault Doctrine and can combine it with their chapter ability Devastating Charge for a +1 Damage to their attacks!
This applies to their melee weapons and bringing those weapons to bear won’t be a problem for the White Scars. Speaking of close combat, nothing get these great hunters going more than taking trophies. One of their Warlord Traits allows you to tap into that bit of background to generate quite a few extra attacks over the course of a battle:
Again, that’s just one of SIX. The White Scars are going to get 5 more to choose from.
It’s not just the Warlords getting cool stuff, the White Scars Librarians are getting their own Psychic Discipline – Stormspeaking. Lightning Call is the first revealed power and you can bet on getting even more in their new codex!
And if you thought a new Psychic Discipline was the only thing the Psykers are getting, White Scars have access to their own set of Relics – one of which is the new Mantle of the Stormseer. It’s “just” a flat +1 to the total – but that can come in very handy for casting your powers in battle.
It would be silly for the White Scars to NOT get a slew of new Stratagems, right? Well you can bet that there will be more than a couple you’ll be able to tap into. Born in the Saddle is a great stratagem for your Biker units. They will be able to advance and still shoot! Combine that with their chapter tactic so they can fight at full effect.
Kor’sarro Khan
Not only is Kor’sarro getting a new Primaris Upgraded version, he’s also got an improved statline to match:
He’s also still weilding his trusty blade Moonfang – and he will mess-up other enemy characters!
And if you thought that his Hawk was just for hanging out on the open steppe with a fleet horse, guess again. Anzuq can also make a special attack – GO FOR THE EYES!!!
