It’s time for all your burning questions about the new Space Marines Codex to be answered. The FAQ is now live!

40k fans, the Space Marine FAQ is live. What questions does it answer? Does that thing work the way you thought? Can a Primaris Sergeant really kill a Knight in a single round? Let’s find out.

Codex: Space Marine FAQ

Key Changes:

The Vigilus Defiant Errata makes it clear that the new Marine codex has outdated parts of it.

Hellblasters can still be taken in 10 man squads and also Drop Pod/Drop Pod Assault still has the turn 3 limit applied to it. And measuring distances from the Drop Pod can be from the doors – up or down (it is in the FAQ).

This codex invalidates the previous codex COMPLETELY. Furthermore, this FAQ clarifies that the other Adeptus Astartes units cannot benefit from the stratagems in this codex.

This question helps to clarify that the rules in the codex are written based on how the core rules are worded. It clears up the unit’s attacks/attack question.

Impulsors do allow units to disembark and move and the Salamander applies every time the unit is chosen to shoot.

Key Changes:

The Ultramarines Supplement incorporates and invalidates some of the rules from Vigilus Defiant

Sergeant Chronus DOES get a Warlord Trait.

Yes, the AP bonuses do stack from Combat Doctrines and the Tactical Expertise Stratagem.

Relics with the same name are considered to be the same. Also Scions of Guilliman does work with Master of Strategy/Squad Doctrines Stratagem/Tactical Doctrine.
