D&D: A Look At Modiphius’ Upcoming Odyssey Of The Dragonlords

2 Minute Read
Nov 27 2019

Brought to you by Bioware ex-devs James Ohlen and Jesse Sky, Odyssey of the Dragonlords is a 5e campaign setting filled with mythology and magic.

When Odyssey of the Dragonlords launched its Kickstarter earlier this year (was it really only this year? Why does one year feel like three), it was no surprise they were massively successful, given the pedigree of designers behind them. James Ohlen and Jesse Sky, whose names you might recognize from some of your favorite Bioware Games, were behind the classical grek mythology-inspired world of the Dragonlords. And now, with 2020 around the corner, their books have a tentative release date of February with a pre-order as early as January 3rd, according to PHD Games.

At the dawn of time, a war between the gods and Titans left the world of Thylea forever changed. Thousands of years later, the first mortals arrived, carried by ship and dragon. The Dragonlords were the champions who overthrew the Titans 500 years ago and forged the Oath of Peace. But the power of the Oath has waned, and now the Titans seek vengeance. You are one of the heroes called by prophecy to end the conflict once and for all.

Odyssey of the Dragonlords Player Guide

Inspired by ancient Greek mythology, Thylea is a brand new campaign setting—a lost continent that can be seamlessly added to any existing 5E campaign. This book includes an overview of the history, factions, kingdoms, and laws of the forgotten continent. In this tome, you will learn about the gods, the titans, and the legendary Dragonlords.

The class backstories section offers guidance on the character-creation process, including potential names and suggested backstories for each of the core player classes. Plus, there are rules for two new player races native to the forests and the northern steppes: the Thylean Centaur and the Thylean Satyr. You can choose one of six epic paths which provide powerful motivations for your hero, making you a central part of the story.

Happy Adventuring!
