With chapters 1-3 done and 4-6 announced, it’s time to take a look at which armies are still in line for a rules update from Psychic Awakening!

Psychic Awakening has brought us a bounty of new rules so far and the story is still moving forward as more and more psychic phenomenons keep popping up all over the Grimdark Galaxy. At the beginning of the event, GW was nice enough to create a graphic to show off all the factions that would be getting new rules:

Now that we’ve gotten the first trilogy of books out, the next batch has been announced and we can start to mark off the “known” updates to see who’s left:

The Armies So Far…

Phoenix Rising – Aledari and Drukhari

Faith & Fury – Sisters of Battle (according to the lore and website), Space Marines, and Chaos Marines

Blood of Baal – Blood Angels and Tyranids

Ritual of the Damned – Dark Angels, Thousand Sons, Grey Knights

Who’s Left?

  • Harlequins
  • Deathwatch
  • Adeptus Custodes
  • Death Guard
  • Astra Militarum
  • Imperial Knights
  • Chaos Knights
  • Orks
  • Necrons
  • T’au
  • Chaos Daemons
  • Adeptus Mechanicus
  • Genestealer Cult
  • Space Wolves

That is still a ton of armies left to get rules. We know the titles of the next two books as well and can guess what factions are going to be center stage for those:

  • The Greater Good –  T’au and ???
  • Saga of the Beast – Space Wolves (Saga) and Orks (Beast)

We still don’t know who the T’au could be squaring off against and there is no reason the Saga of the Beast couldn’t include some other Imperial Forces besides just Space Wolves. The odds are also pretty good that we will see more books after the second trilogy here as well. There are still quite a few armies that need to get those new rules and if GW is doing them at the pace of 1 per month, that could take us until June of next year (assuming we get a 7, 8, and 9). A trilogy of trilogies – hey, it worked for Star Wars, right?

So – who do you think the T’au are going to square off against? And what pairings would you like to see duke it out? Let us know your guesses in the comments!
