Games Workshop is finally tackling airbrushing with some official Warhammer guides coming. Get ready for a new batch of tutorials on airbrushing!

Airbrushing can be pretty intimidating for new painters. There’s the airbrush you need, plus an air compressor, and you need to used pretty thinned downed paints. While GW has had their own line of airbrush paints (conveniently named Air Paints) they haven’t really made a ton of marketing around them. Not like Contrast or their standard paint line which is used in all their tutorials for the entire model range on Warhammer TV. But all that is about it change.

We’ve enlisted our friend Caleb Wissenbeck to lend a hand in making five new tutorials specially for airbrush painters! Whether you’re looking to get the most out of your airbrush, or you’ve always been curious to try but never knew what to do with one, Caleb’s videos will be invaluable.

Airbrushing 101

Now, there are already a ton of airbrushing tutorials out there for all sorts of miniatures but this will be the first official Warhammer specific tutorials. I’m curious to see how in depth GW is going to go with these videos – not just in terms of paints, but also in terms of airbrush components and maintenance. Cleaning the airbrush to avoid clogs and other issues is a tad more complicated than cleaning a brush with the Bob Ross method.

“Just beat the devil out of it…”

Hopefully these tutorials will take some of the mystery and intimidation factor out of airbrushing for a lot of folks – myself included. I’m familiar with the technique, but have never put it into practice and really that’s what it all comes down to – practice. These videos will hopefully give us all something more to practice with airbrushing.
