Monsterpocalypse: Sun Shadow and Uber Corp Spoilers

3 Minute Read
Jan 23 2020

We’ve got spoilers hot of the Privateer Dev Chat press! Come check out all the new Sun Shadow and Ubercorp models on the horizon.

Yesterday the Privateer Press Dev Chat was all about Monsterpocalypse! We’re getting a look at the third Monster for both Sun Shadow and Ubercorp. Spoiler Alert – they’re both ninjas!

Sun Shadow Syndicate

C-Type Shinobi & Elite

Our first attacking Cargo! I’m glad I recently bought my 2nd Interceptor.

Shadow Rider

The Shadow Rider has some solid melee abilities and can Sprint! I really like the look of this unit, both model and rules.

Zor-Magna

Zor-Magna is boasting some pretty sweet rules, particularly Focused Will and Death Blossom!

Ubercorp

U-Tank

A solid all-around tank, I can see the U-Tank being a staple power base holder in the future.

Aaapebot

This one has me scratching my head. I’m not sure I see what Aaapebot is trying to accomplish but I will happily be proven wrong on this.

Mecha-Maxim

Another solid ninja monster that I’m sure will have a deeper review in the future! I especially love the Rocket Assist rule in Hyper Form. Mastermind and Jam are both new rules that I like quite a bit.

First Turn Changes?

One of the last things covered in the chat was a potential change to the first turn of the game. It’s long been believed that the first player had an advantage and the dev team is looking to fix that. Oz shared that they are testing the idea of players starting with only 5 dice in the Unit Pool at the start of the game. Then after their first turn, an additional 5 dice are added to the Unit Pool.

This is a super interesting change that I’m excited to see in action. Oz and Faye shared that they may play with these new rules on the next Dev Stream, so stayed tuned for that!

Wrap Up

Lot’s of good stuff in this dev chat and a ton to be excited for. What spoiler are you most excited to get your hands on?
