It’s been hinted at by Games Workshop and now we finally have the details. The All Stegadon list is coming soon!

This one if for anyone who’s ever started a Seraphon army because they just wanted to play with Dinosaurs on the tabletop. If you were always disappointed that you needed to have pesky things like “Skink Screens” or “Saurus Ranks” so your list would be “legal” for Matched Play even though you just wanted to run all Dinos all the time. Well, GW has heard your heart’s plea – It’s the Stegageddon!

via Warhammer Community

We warn you, though – once you learn what Stegageddon is, there may be no coming back. This is a reinvention of the paradigm; namely, the paradigm about the maximum number of Stegadons in a Warhammer Age of Sigmar army. Get ready for 2,000 points of hell, sent right from the heavens.

The basics are pretty straightforward. If you want to run an all Stegadon army, you follow some simple steps.

Step 1 – Choose the Right Sub-faction

This part is easy. You’ll be playing a Coalesced Thunder Lizard army. Why? Because this unlocks the mighty Stegadons as Battleline! This also has some added benefits of providing you with more Grinding Jaws attacks and your Monsters will be tougher, too. You won’t have any chaff in this list – it’s all beef so you better make it the best beef you can.

Step 2 – Add Stegadons

We’re going to kick this step off with 4 Stegadons. Hey, the list is called The Stegageddon – what else did you expect?! And yes, they are going to fill out your Battleline slots and equally as important – they won’t take up any Behemoth slots (according to Warhammer Community).

How you personally load them out is up to you. GW is recommending 2 and 2. Two with Skystreak Bows and two with Sunfire Throwers. The Gout of Sunfire rule has changed from the current version to a Mortal Wound generator as well:

Step 3 – Add A General

For this list, there really is only one General that would be fitting. That’s the Stegadon with a Skink Chief. He’s got all the right keywords to make it work plus he comes with the Coordinated Strikes ability that is really just the cherry-on-top.

Did you know that Stegadons have the Skink keyword? So yes, this DOES work and yes, that applies to ALL the melee weapons for the Stegadon. That’s going to be a boat load of extra attacks.

Step 4 – More Stegadons!

You didn’t think we were done with adding Stegadons, did you? Next, GW is recommending TWO MORE Stegadon with an Engine of the Gods up top.

Why? Because magic, folks. This thing rolls on a 2D6 chart and on a 4-8 it has a way to heal your beefy hordes thanks to the Cosmic Engine:

Step 5 – Lasers?

GW recommends going with a Bastiladon next. I know what you’re thinking, “Hey – that’s not a Stegadon!” I had the same thought. However, I’ve also fought against Bastiladons and I can tell you that their Space Laser Crystal is just want the List Doctor ordered. They are also pretty tough and will hold its own. Also, using the Thunder Lizard’s Command on a Bastiladon is kinda spicy:

Yeah. That’s right. Two shots from a single Bastiladon in a single turn. The sound of the PEW PEW PEW is coming soon.

Alternatively, you could just go with an 8th Stegadon. I won’t judge.

Thanks to GW’s tweaks and changes this list as presented clocks in at 1970 points! That’s perfect for Matched Play. You could make your own tweaks to this list. Maybe a Slann Starmaster or some Starpriests and/or Starseers. They have the Cosmic Herald and Astral Herald abilities you can tap:

This is one big slab of prehistoric beef to slap on the tabletop. It’s a cool theme list for sure! Do you have the cold blood flowing in your veins to make it work? One way to find out…

What do you think of the Stegageddon list from Games Workshop? Are you crazy enough to give it a go?
