Amidst the outbreak of a global pandemic, AdeptiCon 2020 has been cancelled–plans for the future are forthcoming, including two new live events from GW.

Not long after the WHO declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic and countries around the world declared states of emergency (including the US), AdeptiCon 2020 has been cancelled in the interest of public safety. These are remarkable times and we’re only starting to see the effects, but we respect AdeptiCon’s commitment to overall public health and wellbeing. A cancellation like this is not without its significant impacts–as you’ll see in their official Statement, which we covered yesterday.

AdeptiCon is but one of many events in all spheres that have been cancelled. From major league sports to Comic Cons, even South by Southwest here in Austin was cancelled for the year following concern for public safety.

GW typically unveils what’s coming for the future of their products at AdeptiCon and in light of everything, have elected to bring two new online preview events coming over the next three weeks. Here’s what GW had to say on Warhammer Community.

We’ve no idea how this virus will continue to play out on the global stage and what restrictions it will put on the rest of the Warhammer events calendar this year  (we hope to have more news on Warhammer Fest and Warhammer World events soon*). So just in case, we’re going to bring you a series of online events and reveals.

To kick things off, we’ll be bringing you two online preview events within the next three weeks! And so that as many of you as possible can tune in and enjoy a first look at future releases and ask our Studio folks that question you’ve always wanted to ask, we’re holding them at times that should mean you’re up and awake regardless of where you are in the world.

Mark your calendars now, and join us on these dates, right here on warhammer-community.com

Saturday the 28th of March – 2:00 pm GMT

Saturday the 4th of April – 2:00 pm GMT

These are going to be some of the biggest preview events we’ve held to date – you won’t want to miss them!

So stay safe, wash your hands, and don’t forget to tune in later.

And be sure and check back for more updates from the live events and the AdeptiCon announcement!
