Warhammer Events Cancelled Until Further Notice
Games Workshop has announced that Warhammer Fest 2020 and all scheduled Warhammer World and Warhammer Citadel Cafe events are cancelled until further notice.
In the interests of the health and safety of both the community and staff, Games Workshop announced that they’ll be cancelling Warhammer events until further notice. This news comes in the wake of many other cancellations as countries around the world strive to keep folks safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s the full statement, via Warhammer Community:
We value the health and safety of each of you, our wonderful community and the wellbeing of our staff above all else. It is with that in mind, and with a heavy heart, we announce today that Warhammer Fest 2020 and all scheduled events at Warhammer World and the Warhammer Citadel Cafe are cancelled until further notice. The Warhammer New Hobbyist Expo will also be postponed.
If you’ve already booked your ticket for any of these events, you’ll get a full refund very soon.
As COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, we’ve also had to temporarily close a number of Warhammer and Games Workshop stores. Those that are still open may be operating unusual or reduced hours. If you’re planning a visit to your local store, we’d suggest you give them a call first or check out their Facebook page to make sure that they’re open.
However, as with many groups pivoting to online events, the big exciting studio previews are still planned to be held online. These are still going ahead, once again, these are planned for Saturdays March 28th and April 4th. In light of the event cancellations, GW has said that they are exploring options to get the event exclusive miniatures to dedicated fans who would have been picking them up at the event.
