Goatboy here and we are to take the new Freeblade Lance out for a spin!

While the Armies of Renown might not seem like the most amazing things – they do have some interesting bits and pieces.  I think they do have merit and while they most likely will not catapult you into the winner’s circle I bet they could give you an army that wins more than it loses. They will let you complete one of the better things in an event – a winning record. The prospect of getting to the very end undefeated is a hard thing to do so finding a list that looks fun, could be painted up to be awesome, and is easy to run are all things players can strive for.

Thus with that in mind – playing an army full of Freeblades with some cool rules seems like a no-brainer Goatboy style list.  Build up some knights, make them look cool, and create a unique list to bring the pain to the tabletop.  I also love how weirdly customizable this army can be without having to lock yourself into Questor Allegiances thus you could have some fun Stratagem options as you build out your list.  So with that in mind – let’s get to building.

Freeblade Tactics

Well, this is a whole mess of nonsense, isn’t it?  So many random things you have to remember I would most likely make special cards for each one.  The plan is basically to have all 3 big Knights be objective secured, one of them is better than normal Objective Secured, you got a fat knight to shoot from the backfield, and you got a ton of little guys that can run around, heroically intervene on some of them, and otherwise be a pain in the butt.

The Knight Magaera seems pretty nutty with the Lightning cannon and rough as heck claw sweep.  Plus – you might have enough bodies to survive.  I think I picked the households to allow me some fun with the Stratagems to bring guys back sometimes, cause some other problems, and just be annoying.  Plus all 3 big guys have if you roll 6’s you get more hits – which is something Goatboy loves to do.

Into the fray my Knightly Brothers!
