Games Workshop Rumor Engine: That’s Not A Bowling Ball

The Rumor Engine is back and this time around someone has a good grip on things.

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for another look at a teaser model from the future from Games Workshop. The Rumor Engine is here and something is about to toss a skull. Take a look for yourself.

“We think our recent attempts to ‘improve’ the Rumour Engine have upset the machine spirit of this sacred device. Fortunately, power cycling has cheered it right up.”

For starters, this one really could fit in either Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar. Skulls are kind of a thing that GW uses in both systems with regularity. That said, I’m getting a bit of a ghoulish vibe from the hand here and the stone on which this appears to be on. In any case, it’s clearly a humanoid hand holding a skull like a bowling ball. That said, it’s not nessessarily a human’s hand but the skull probably is human.

My gut reaction is something from the Flesh Eater Courts. They are ghouls, hang around tombstones, and don’t mind having skulls around:

However, skulls are not just for the Death Factions of AoS. There is also one particular Chaos God who’s got a thing for Skulls. Could this be a Khorne-related miniature? And if so, are we looking at a 40k champion, AoS champion of Khorne, or a Chaos Daemon (like a Daemon Prince)?

A new Daemon Prince would be cool…

Khorne does like the skulls, too. Maybe it’s a Khorne Follower and this is their custom bowling ball. Boom!

Whatever this turns out to be, it’s already an interesting looking teaser. How long will we have wait to find out what this Rumor Engine is? That’s unclear – but for now, let’s just appreciate this tease from the future!

Alright Internet, you know the drill – if you’ve got a guess play along and throw it in the comments. Let’s have some fun with this one!
