The Orks are coming this weekend with a new Preview from Games Workshop. But that’s not all that stirs in the Octarius Sector.
It appears that we are getting back-to-back weekend Online Previews from Games Workshop. This upcoming Saturday GW is diving head first into the Octarius Sector and the Orks are looking to make a big show. If you want to watch it live, it’s going to take place on their twitch page at 6PM (BST). Thankfully, they have a handy infographic for all those pesky timezones again:
And how do we know this one is probably going to be very Ork-centric? GW pretty much confirmed it.
“Those of you who know your lore will remember that of all the forces that inhabit the Octarius Sector, the Orks have a particularly large presence. Previously content to bloody themselves against the tendrils of Hive Fleet Leviathan, the local greenskins are beginning to spill out into surrounding systems and the constant conflict within Octarius is just about to reach a boiling point.”
Octarius is one of the biggest battles in the Grimdark that doesn’t center around the Imperium or Chaos. It’s an ongoing conflict between the Orks and the Tyranids and was covered in both the 4th Edition Ork Codex and also the 5th Edition Tyranid Codex. The two super predators are battling it out all the way down to the microscopic level as Ork spores fight to survive vs Tyranid phage cells.
The Octarius war is basically a super charged breeding pool for both the Orks (who love a good scrap) and Tyranids (who adapt and consume biomass). For now, it’s been a back-and-forth battle and various other forces and stepped into the mix. It’s unclear who’s got an edge as the lore is constantly evolving (much like the two forces fighting). One this is clear, which ever side wins will come out meaner and stronger than ever before.
All that to say, this weekend is going to be a big one for the Xenos. We know an Ork Codex is on the way and it might be time for GW showoff what else is on the way for the Greenskins! Tune in on Saturday to find out.
More like ORK-tarius, AMIRITE?
