A new 5th Edition sourcebook from longtime 3rd-party publisher Kobold Press, Tome of Heroes, will add more than 50 new subclasses to D&D.

One of the defining features of D&D is the character class–and one of the defining features of 5E’s classes, in particular, is the subclass. These specializations give players the chance to customize their characters while still playing around with one of the game’s 12 basic classes. Whether you’re an Arcane Trickster Rogue or a Hexblade Warlock, you know that whatever subclass you pick gives your playstyle a whole new wrinkle.

And Kobold Press, who partnered with WotC to bring you Tyranny of Dragons and who are longtime D&D 3rd party publishers in their own right, launched a Kickstarter for a new 5th Edition sourcebook, Tome of Heroes. The new book in their Tome Of series will add more than 50 new subclasses and ten new player races to 5th Edition D&D.

With new subclasses like Cat Burglar, Smuggler, Timeblade, and Circle of Ash awaiting you, this book will add even more flexibility to your characters. With work from designers like Gabe Hicks (who previously designed the 5E Class Modifier Module, well worth checking out) and Dan Dillon, who is an official D&D Designer at WotC, Kobold Press is sticking to their recipe for quality content that feels polished, balanced, and that explores the game in interesting ways.
