You’ve got until 12 pm BST tomorrow to watch this video. Just go watch Old Bale Eye already!

This is just a friendly PSA that the new Warhammer+ Preview for Hammer and Bolter: Old Bale Eye is out for roughly another 16ish hours as of the time of posting. The clock is ticking. If you want to catch a free preview of this animation and form your own opinions on it, then go watch it!

via Warhammer Community

“For the next 24 hours, from Saturday 12pm BST to Sunday 12pm BST, you can watch and enjoy Old Bale Eye.”

We watched it and already posted our initial spoiler free reactions. It’s fun – in a Grimdark way and worth the 20-ish minutes to watch.  So grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!

If the video link isn’t working for you, I’m sorry you may have missed out. On the plus side, this animation will be available to watch when Warhammer+ launches on the 25th.

We did a pricing breakdown on the Warhammer+ service and after watching the animation, I still think it’s a good price point. The basics are this:

  • A full year of the 40k App at $2.99 per month ($35.88) + Azyr at $0.99 per month ($11.88) + a $40 miniature = $87.76
  • A year subscription to Warhammer+ is $59.99 so you’re saving $27.77 and you’re getting access to everything else.

And that’s if you’re JUST using the Apps to build army lists. That’s not counting everything else.

Current Paid Content

  • Miniature$40 (based on the Megaboss)
  • 40k App Subscription$2.99 per month
  • Azyr/AoS App Subscription$0.99 per month
  • White Dwarf Back Catalog (All of 2020) – $90 (based on a year’s subscription)
  • Warhammer Vault (previous publications) – literally hundreds of dollars

Extra Content

  • 3 New Exclusive  shows (Loremasters, Battle Report, Masterclass)
  • Event Extras (no idea what this will be worth)
  • And of course all the new animated shows

The animation is good and the writing is on point! It’s also told from the Orky perspective and I really do look forward to GW exploring more stories told from the Xenos point-of-view. It’s a side we don’t get to hear from very often and it’s a nice change of pace. If the other shows that are coming are just as good (or better) then I’m sold!

$59.99 a year? A miniature is included? And new animations released every Wednesday? Sounds like a plan to me. What do you think?
