Age of Sigmar: Warcry – Meet The Slaughterborn
The Red Harvest is coming and with it new Warbands gather. Today we meet the new Marauder known as the Slaughterborn!
The Eightpoints are getting more deadly as the Red Harvest approaches. We’ve met one of the combatants who had a penchant for spiders already. Now we are meeting the Slaughterborn who has some nods to the classic Chaos Marauders of old.
“Surviving the Eightpoints is no walk in the park, and many Warcry warbands turn to strange mutations or arcane rituals to make it through another bout of vicious skirmish combat. Some exceptional individuals, however, have no need for these puny tricks to emerge triumphant from the Red Harvest – requiring only grit, a good pair of boots, and a hecking big sword.”
The Slaughterborn sure looks like a Chaos Marauder as he’s got the leatherstraps and bareskin down. The giant animal skull does remind me a bit of the Untamed Beasts. At the same time, this one also has a bit of the Spire Tyrants look which is bit more Chaos Marauder mixed with Chaos Warrior. The Slaughterborn seems like a model who’d fit right in the middle of the mix – kind of like the Dark Oath Chieftain.
From the looks of things he’s got at least a couple options for poses. One hand is open while the other options has a trio of heads. No signs of their unfortunate owners however.
It’s starting to look like Red Harvest is going to be pitting these two against each other. It fits in line with similar Warcry releases – two new Warbands in a boxed set sounds like a good re-launching point. We might even see some new terrain – like the stuff they are standing on in the picture above.
The last big set we had was Catacombs and the current starter set for Warcry is sold out online. The Red Harvest could be the next box set for Warcry. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough!
