Did you get your entry ready for Armies on Parade? Now is your time to shine.

Every year Games Workshop hosts a competition for bragging rights around the world. It’s a time for talented hobbyists and painters to really show off their skills and all their hard work. It’s also a time to gawk at all the amazing models and diorama-like displays people make. It’s Armies On Parade 2021!

“Digital submissions are now open – you have until the 31st of October to enter. If you’re ready to go right now, feel free to do so. But if you want to take your time and add those finishing touches, just make sure it’s in by the end of the month.”

Where can you submit your entries?  Good question! GW has that covered as well as what you need to submit with your entry:

To submit your entry, send an email to [email protected], including the following details:

  • Your full name
  • Where in the world you’re from (e.g. Nottingham, UK)
  • Which category you’re submitting to (e.g. Best of Warhammer 40,000)
  • Your army (e.g. Orks)
  • At least five well-taken pictures

Curious about the categories? There is also a handy infographic for that, too:

Pretty straight forward. So what can you win for all your hard work? Well there are lot of things you can win. For starters, there will be trophies awarded for Gold, Silver, and Bronze for each category. That’s 9 winners to start. Plus, there are going to be “a range of one-off awards as well for the inevitable and ever-surprising submissions” that will be at the judge’s discretion. For example, last year they gave out an award for “Loonboss’s Fun Guy” which you can see below:

Those special category winners will also receive a medal to boot! And each winner will get their choice of Start Collecting! or Combat Patrol Box, too!

So what will the judges be checking for? That’s a bit tougher but here’s a few things you know they are going to want to see:

This isn’t a complete checklist but it’s a good start. The competition is varied and wide so get creative and have some fun with it. You can read the full rules/FAQ here.

“Retail stores are also taking part this year, and so check with your local store to get all the details on how to join in locally. If you want to be in with a chance of appearing on our Parade Day live show, you’ll still need to submit your entry online.”

So good luck on your entries and if you’re not done you’ve got until the end of the month to get your submission in!
