Warner Bros. Multiverse may be the next big brawl-style video game– and we’ve got a first look at the starting roster.

Late last week, rumors spread about an upcoming multi-property fighting game featuring characters from the vast Warner Bros multiverse.

If the online whispers are true, the game would be similar to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. or Shonen Jump’s Jump Force. These games feature characters that fans know and love, but from different properties.

Characters from WB’s library duking it out Mortal Kombat style? That sounds silly and fun– and like it could be wildly popular. And we have reason to believe Warner Bros. is working on the next version.

This tweet is by Super Smash Bros. World Champion Juan “Hungrybox” DeBiedma. If it’s to be believed,  we’ve now seen leaked art from the game. The image either proves the existence of a Warner Multiverse or just that somebody with an interest in graphic design has too much time on their hands.

Warner Bros Multiverse Characters From Left to Right:

  • An unknown character
  • Steven Universe (Steven Universe)
  • Batman (Batman, DC Comics)
  • Harley Quinn (Batman, DC Comics)
  • Finn (Adventure Time)
  • Jake (Adventure Time)
  • Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)
  • Superman (Superman, DC Comics)
  • Wonder Woman (Wonder Woman, DC Comics)
  • Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings)
  • Rick Sanchez (Rick & Morty)
  • Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
  • Tom & Jerry (Tom & Jerry)

White icons on each character box seem to represent fighting styles or roles. This leads me to believe that characters like Steven Universe– with a halo and wings icon– may be healers (a fitting choice for Steven). Other characters who show a fist icon like Shaggy may be primarily-punchy guys.

This game looks mathematical!

Warner Bros. has yet to confirm or deny the game’s existence. But the rapid take-down of artwork and video also posted by Hungrybox gives the rumor more credit than denial. As do the numerous reputable sources corroborating the rumors.

As of right now, various sources are describing the Warner Bros Multiverse as a free-to-play game. They say that the game has a tag-team mechanic that allows players to build their own teams.

More Characters Yet to Come

Reports also indicate that fans can expect the character roster to continue filling out. The thirteen listed above represent just the starting characters. Unfortunately, the lack of official word means that we don’t have a release date or know what platforms we can expect to play on.

We can’t wait to see more about this game as news is released. And we’re looking forward to seeing what characters they add to the roster in future installments of Warner Bros Multiverse.

In the meantime, let’s speculate wildly about playable Ultra Instinct Shaggy and bemoan the fact that the Animaniacs aren’t first-release characters (what gives?) But most importantly, will Bugs Bunny’s special move involve serving his classic drag look?

Do it, you cowards!

Would you play Warner Bros Multiverse? What characters would you like to see added? What do you think of the thirteen characters we’ve seen so far? Let us know in the comments!

Happy Adventuring!
