In the upcoming Don’t Look Up, the apocalypse is coming and it’s up to two low-level astronomers to save it. With a press tour!

This new satire focuses on two low-level astronomers who discover that a meteor is headed directly to Earth. They meet with president  and government representatives and can’t get anyone to care in December’s Don’t Look Up.

So the astronomers go on media tour to try to convince the world we’re about to be destroyed by a meteor that’s headed directly to Earth. But people prefer to bury their heads in the sand.

Don’t Look Up looks hilarious and appropriately cynical. The fact that Adam McKay is directing is enough for me. But the cast is a nice bonus.

McKay is the mind behind the infinitely quotable Anchorman movies. He’s also know for The Big Short, which managed to make the housing crisis both understandable and darkly funny.

The cast is led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. It also includes some other amazing performers, like Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep.

Seth Rogan is sad he was not included.
