The Adeptus Custodes have gone to step class and have some powerful battle stances to bring to bear with their upcoming codex.

The Custodes aren’t like your typical warriors of the Imperium. They are organized and fight differently. That is going to be more apparent in their new codex and today we’re getting a closer look at some of their rules.

“Codex: Adeptus Custodes underlines the brilliance of these legendary warriors with rules for martial ka’tahs, a series of power stances adopted in unison by entire Shield Hosts, bringing centuries of training to bear with violent precision.”

This seems similar to the Space Marine combat tactics but it sounds a bit more flexible. The Custodes get to pick before the first turn as opposed to being locked into a particular tactic. GW called it “an á la carte menu of devastation” and that seems pretty accurate. Each Martial Ka’tah comes with two stances as well:

Oh and you can perform these two stances in either order. That makes them pretty flexible in terms of choosing the right Stance for the current situation.

Fighting against hordes? The Dacatarai seems like it could be pretty effective! The Adeptus Custodes also have some other ways of dealing with the bigger hitters in your opponent’s list, too:

Just remember there is a list to choose from and these aren’t the only options to go with. Once you get the hang of these deadly stances you’ll be able to march all over your opponents in no time. There’s more to these as well as certain Shield Hosts favor different stances, too. If you find a dance move you really like then there is sure to be a Shield Host for your particular playstyle.
