This new bundle lets your Halo Infinite Spartan be their meow-st adorable self with cat ears, armor, and even gun charms.

For too long, cat ears have been for anime conventions and e-girls. And they’ve been kept from the deserving head of Master Chief. But no longer! That’s right, your Halo Infinite Spartan can be as kawaii as they want with this cat ear armor attachment.

“I have a hunch the cat ears are selling well.” – Knotilator on Reddit.

Of course there are a few catches. The ears aren’t free and they are only available in multiplayer mode. But for ten US real world dollars, you can purchase the purrfectly named “Purrfect Audio” cat ears as part of the larger cat-themed bundle. Also in the bundle are faded pink armor coating and Tabby and kat gun charms. The entire set reminds me of the cat ear headset streamers use sometimes. And they’re just as cute.

This obvious attempt at pushing microtransactions and making some extra cash with the power of cute seems to be working. Lots of users are sporting cat ears in games. And of course they are. The ears are a purely cosmetic purchase, but people love customizing their skins and looking at cute cats on the internet. How could we not combine the two if given the opportunity?

In fact, Twitter is full of players making the same comments and jokes about their unfortunate need to have their Spartan don cat ears. “My parents had a house at 30. And I bought the cat ear armor in Halo for $10 this morning.” wrote user AndyTheBlanch. Do we all identify with Andy a little too much?

It’s not known at this time if the cat ears are a reference to the aforementioned headset, or Leo Varas’s Meowster Chief art from July of this year. Or, of course, the idea could have happened independently because everyone on the internet loves cats. Any of those options would be equally likely.

Unfortunately, we don’t know how long the Purrfect Audio set will be available. Halo Infinite‘s in-game store changes up what’s available every Tuesday at 10AM PST, so these could be gone within a few days.

And of course, the holiday-themed peppermint-colored gear will be available until January 4th. Should you combine them? Well, I’m not not saying that would be an adorable mixture.

All in all, people seem to agree that this is a fun, cute addition to the game. And compared to other games, the price is fairly reasonable. And if Twitter and Reddit are any indications, more than a few of us are spending real money to rock electronic cat ears these days.

Have you gotten the Purrfect Audio bundle? If so, can we see your Spartan and make pspspsps sounds at them? Would you ever spend real money on purely cosmetic in-game purchases like this? What do you think about the inundation of cat ears in Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer mode? Let us know in the comments!

Happy Adventuring!
