Games Workshop is showing off some more stratagems for the T’au and how effective they are at teamwork.

The T’au are bringing the coordination to the battlefield in a whole new way. They are willing to sacrifice for the Greater Good and know that teamwork makes that dream work! These new stratagems exemplify the T’au’s belief in being more than the sum of their parts. So let’s take a look at them.

“Codex: T’au Empire is available to pre-order this Saturday, and although massive shotguns and maverick commanders are dominating the discussion, the Fire Caste’s rigorous training is an equally potent part of the new toolkit, and a new crop of Stratagems put it all at your fingertips.”

T’au Stratagems Unleashed

First up we have a blast from the past…or at least space. This is the Orbital Ion Beam. It takes a little bit of setup but if you use it well you can do some damage to multiple units or use it to block off parts of the battlefield. It takes some coordination on the ground to call in lasers from space and the T’au are able to do just that. And speaking of coordination…

This stratagems is a essentially two units unloading on a single enemy target for maximum impact! All the attacks have to go into that target but you’ll be rewarded with an extra point of AP. That could make a big difference in popping enemy army or gunning down a heavily armored infantry unit. But what if the enemy is in your face already?

Then it’s time to maintain that coordinated fire disciple that Fire Warriors are known for. Point-Blank Volley is exactly what it sounds like! Enemy in your face? GOOD — it’s easier to hit them when they are that close.

Yesterday we learned that the Kroot can be fielded as a full army. It uh…technically functions. But if you’re just looking to sprinkle in some Kroot as support then you’ll be happy to know there are a few tricks they can pull. Like this new stratagem. The aren’t too shabby in close combat and this ability can really surprise folks by allowing a unit of Kroot to Heroic Intervention from 6″ away. And they get +1 attack, too!

3 attacks in close combat is basically god-mode compared to most T’au infantry. Just sayin.

That’s it for the T’au Stratagem Teasers from GW. What do you think of these 4 options?
