The Idoneth Deepkin’s bloodthirsty Akhelian Allopex is getting a bit more bite in the new Battletome.

It’s a SHARK ATTACK! The Allopex is back with some nice improvements in the upcoming Battletome. We already saw how the Leviadon was getting the chance to take a bite out of their enemies. Now that there’s some blood in the water the sharks are ready to strike.

Battleline Beasties

“While Allopexes can be commanded by any of the Idoneth factions, these vicious selachian sea-predators are particularly beloved by the Fuethán enclave, who are just as bloodthirsty as their deadly mounts. To reflect this, players who choose the Fuethán enclave will now be able to take Akhelian Allopexes as Battleline units.”

You knew that option was coming. In the upcoming Battletome you’ll be able to chew up those Battleline slots with Allopex units. And if you decide to run them on the tabletop you can also double up those units and still have lots of room for unit coherency.

A Merciless Shiver is a new ability that Allopex units have that grants them a 3″ coherency instead of the typical 1″ range. Apparently, these predators like their personal space. This is also a nice option for allowing them to create a larger footprint on the tabletop, too.

It’s not just the mounts that are getting a boost but the riders, too. Those new Harpoon launchers are hitting for D3 damage now:

Blood In The Water

If you do happen to run the Fuethán Allopexes you’re in for a treat. If you want to run three of them as individual units you can get access to a special formation called a Bloodthirsty Shiver. This will allow you to pick one of the Allopexes to really tear into a target by generating some extra nasty bite attacks.

With those bonus hits the Allopexes are going to be able to make quick work of a target. Never get between a shark and it’s food…
