With all the exciting changes on the horizon, it’s high time for some new blood to soak the battlefield.

The Realms of battle have seen a lot of exciting changes over the months since 3.0 released. From a new breed of Orruks to the rebirth of the dragons, Age of Sigmar has had no shortage of awesome releases for fans of every Alliance. However, with all these new changes, we’re left to wonder if there’s anything else on the horizon. While GW would be well within their rights to regurgitate old armies with a new shine (almost every force out right now is amazing), it was be incredible to see something new for generals to sink their teeth into. With that in mind, here are four armies that have been at least hinted at in the lore that I’d love to see on the tabletop.

Chaos Dwarves

We’ve heard tell of these dark engineers in several Chaos storylines, and I think it’s time we see them on the tabletop. The sinister warriors are responsible for building and maintaining the Hellcannons and other half-daemon engines of war. We know Archaon is planning to use a massive Chaos War Engine to siege down the gates of Azyr, so it would stand to reason that we’d see the Chaos Dwarves manning the weapons. If that’s the case, it’s not to far off to expect a full army within a few releases.

Water/Fire Lumineth

We already have a lot of Lumineth from the Earth and Air temples, and aelf fans are eating them up. The Hurakan aelves brought a whole new meta to the stotic Lumineth, giving them fast cavalry and withering shooting coupled with deadly fox spirits. However, I would personally like to see what some of the other temples can produce. Stealthy Water devotees or magic focused students of Fire would be an excellent addition to the Lumineth roster, or whatever GW wants to do for them. I just hope they don’t tip the balance TOO much more in the favor of Order.

Kurnothi

While most of the other aelven races have thrived in the Realms, the Wood Aelves have fallen a bit behind. Whether they lose all their coolest troops after the shift to Cities or have them turned into tree ghosts by Alarielle, they got the short end of the proverbial stick. However, a few outliers called the Kurnothi have cropped up in the Underworlds and the Cursed City game, showing a possible connection to half-Fey aelven warriors. I’d love to see a full army of these master ambushers, perhaps in a box set against some new Beasts of Chaos.

Umbraneth

Come on, Games Workshop! You’ve talked him up so much, you’ve brought back the dragons, you’ve even had him show up in recent lore. Just give me Malerion and his Shadow Aelves so I can shut up about this. Kay, thanks, bye.

What new army would you like to see?

We’ve been waiting NINE YEARS for some love…
