It’s been a good week for some of our favorite animes. Demon Slayer‘s season two finale pulled out all of the stops and gave us a genuinely good season ending. Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s second season was finally officially announced.

Demon Slayer

Kimetsu No Yaiba or Demon Slayer‘s second season ended this week. After the Mugen Train movie left us all with hurt feelings, the season’s finale was refreshing and generally ended on a high note.

I won’t get too specific in case you haven’t seen it. But suffice to say, it was a finale that left us content yet excited for season three.

And they wasted no time in announcing season two.

The Swordsmith Village arc will be the next to see animation. And it looks like everyone who’s helped make Demon Slayer into the phenomenon it is so far will be back for season three.

In addition to the main voice cast, Harou Sotozaki will be directing, Akira Matsushima will be the chief animation director, and ufo table will once again be the animation studio responsible.

And this is a big deal. Animes have suffered in quality before with major between-season changes.

The upcoming arc will follow Tanjiro to the swordsmith’s village to replace his sword because the swordsmith is tired or constantly replacing it. There it will be revelated that the swordsmith has gone missing.

Just like Mugen Train heavily featured Hashira Rengoku and Entertainment District Arc featured Tengen, Shortsmith’s Village will feature Mitsuri Kanroji, the love hashira.

After the success of movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and popularity of season one, we’ve been anticipating a season two announcement for weeks now. And finally the wait is over.

After a streamed cast meet-and-greet, it was announced that Jujutsu Kaiseon will have a season two in 2023. Manga creator Gege Akutami even drew an illustration to commemorate the occasion.

He also thanks the fans of the series.

After its animated premier in October 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen has been a runaway hit and a surprise favorite. The twenty four episode long season one has been dubbed in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German. It will be re-broadcast starting April 3rd, but for man of us streaming it’s been re-played already.

At this time we don’t have a more exact time frame for season two’s release, but as 2023 creeps closer we will keep out eyes open for updates and announcements. In the meantime, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is almost available for international viewers. And of course, if you can’t wait you can always read ahead on Yuji’s adventures in the manga.
