Goatboy’s Warhammer 40K: Competitive Space Goats (Wolves) – New Points, New You!

Goatboy here with my updated Space Goats Thunder Wolf list. I think this post-FAQ Space Wolves list can go the distance.

My initial list let me go 4-2 at the LVO – which isn’t bad for someone who hasn’t played a ton and only played the list once.  I made a lot of mistakes but I played to my strengths (ruthless aggression) to tried and do as well as I could.  This let me just charge my way to victory and hopefully caused people to rethink the whole – Thunder Wolves are bad cuz they can’t go thru walls.

But enough of that – with new points and new Missions I need to change up the list if I even want to use it again.  I loved the Lightning claws and exploding 6’s but I didn’t like all the weird lack of secondary options I had to deal with.  This leads me to thinking in the new one I need to move back towards something a bit more crunchy. Something with more troops and even some shooting.  I felt the lack of options when I played against two C’Tan’s in a game and I couldn’t even hope to kill them.  Thus it has me thinking adding a bit of some bullet hell would be good. It might let me do something more than just rolling that 2d6 and moving my fat bases into contact.

Goat-tastic Tactics

This is a pretty simple list based on what I had before and tweaked a few things.  The Wulfen give me a reroll charge aura which saves me some CP.  I can also throw the Eradicators into Outflank as well. So they could come on and show up to throw out some needed damage.  I didn’t want to do a droppod but that is always viable. The idea for the army is to shoot out, stuff the opponent in their zone, and hopefully get lucky to ride out the primaries.  Either way, it gives me a little more play. Its new updates let me cover some unfortunate things I could run up against and still be a terror on the battlefield.
