The Aeldari Fire Prism is all about sharing the love — if love is a death laser from it’s Prism Cannon. It works great with friends, too!

When it comes to melting armor on the tabletop the Aeldari sure do seem to have a lot of options. Well, the Fire Prism is just one more tool in the tool box now. But it’s a tool that works best with a squadron of them floating together. Bring some death and destruction with the power of prisms.

“Based on the Falcon chassis, the Fire Prism swaps transport capacity for firepower. The Aeldari engineers have clearly been hard at work, because the prism cannon is now deadlier than ever before, and its dispersed pulse fire mode seems to have been designed specifically to kill Space Marines.”

Just how deadly is the Fire Prism for the Space Marines? The Prism Cannon has two options and both are really bad news for armor.

The two different fire mode are designed for different targets. The Dispersed Pulse is great for taking out lots of tough infantry in a volley. With a long range and potentially 9 shots that each do 2 damage it’s great for dropping most things in Power Armor.

The Focused Lance is another option that’s pretty scary, too. 2 shots at Strength 14 is already bad news but the AP -5 and damage between 3 and 9 is also pretty bonkers! That’s a potential 18 damage that’s going to cut through anything that doesn’t have an invulnerable save. Good thing Fire Prisms don’t have a way around those…

Fire Prisms have always had a fun rule as nod to it’s lore. They can do a combo-shot that’s been different through various editions. In the new codex it’s taking the form of a Stratagem and it’s got an extra surprise.

So with three of them in a formation you’ll get 6 shots from one tank’s Prism Cannon’s Focused Lance shot that ignore Invulnerable saves! That’s pretty spicy. And the other Fire Prisms can still use their other weapon systems on other targets as well. Sure it costs 2 CP but with that damage profile there’s not going to be a target left and that’s the point! 18D3 Damage…yeah, that’s just silly.
