The new Halo: The Series trailer reveals more of the story and shows off some awesome CG scenes and characters. I really hope this is good.

The series will focus on the first three games and the prequel Halo: Reach. Audiences will follow Master Chief during the war between Earth’s United Nations Space Command and alien faction the Covenant. The story won’t entirely rely on the games, and that isn’t a bad thing.

“We want to use the existing Halo lore, history, canon, and characters wherever they make sense for a linear narrative. But also separate the two distinctly so that we don’t invalidate the core canon or do unnatural things to force a first-person video game into an ensemble TV show. You will see many familiar Halo elements. Some are exactly as you’ve seen before and some you will see through the lens of the incredible creatives involved with the show. But all should resoundingly say Halo to you.”

New Halo: The Series Trailer

Not so secret here, I’ve never played the game and don’t know a lot about the universe beyond the marketing I’ve seen over the years. I’m part of the audience that Paramount+ is hoping to get based on the story and looks alone – and they have my attention. This impressive new trailer shows more of the universe and what’s at stake.

It definitely looks like Halo to this layman.

The new Halo: The Series trailer shows off more awesome visual world-building.  The effects and CG are fantastic and on par with other prestige shows out there. The execution of the CG characters is fantastic, as are the wide location shots.

This show has the possibility of being in the same league as The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica if the story is handled right. I really hope that’s the case. We need a solid sci-fi series in the growing field of superheroes and high fantasy series coming out this year.
