‘Tekken: Bloodline’ Trailer Announces Netflix Series
Tekken is getting a Netflix series in 2022. This could be a big year for the underdog fighter series.
Tekken is a fighting game series that never quite reached the ranks of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, but it was no less quality and has a story worth exploring. The trailer for Tekken: Bloodlines is getting current fans hyped for what could be a resurgence of new and returning fans to the series.
Tekken: Bloodline Timeline
The series seems to follow Jin Kazama, who has been the series protagonist since the early games. In the trailer, we see Jin and his mother being attacked by Ogre. However, Jin is unable to protect her. So, he goes to his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, to gain further training. His ultimate goal to win the King of Iron Fist Tournament.
The Tekken: Bloodlines trailer has a lot of hints, character teases and cameos by many known characters like Devil, King, and Leroy. Unsurprisingly, the plot seems to be focused on Tekken 3. But, Leroy doesn’t appear until Tekken 7. So, it’s unclear if the series will span multiple games, or if they are playing fast and loose with the timeline.
The animation style is a dynamic blend of 3D and classical animation. Plus, the fighting is smooth and, pardon the pun, punchy. Each strike feels impactful, aided by the great sound design. For such a short trailer, there’s a lot of technical details to get excited over.
Bonus News: Tekken Cosmetic DLC in Virtua Fighter 5
This might not be the Tekken release some fans wanted. Tekken 7 was released in 2015, and there hasn’t been a mainline game since. However, Tekken is holding on strong with some upcoming cosmetic DLC coming to Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown.
It might be a minor addition, but rumors of Tekken 8 are starting to bubble to the surface. This could really help revitalize some attention for this long-running series.
