Adam West’s Classic Batman is Back in ‘The Batman’ Mashup

Holy car chases, Batman! This Adam West mash-up with ‘The Batman’ takes the campy hero and makes him vengeance – and it kinda works?

The team at Corridor Crew uses all the modern joys of CGI to bring Adam West’s 1960s Batman into Matt Reeves’ new Gotham. What’s wild is that the result looks like a good movie. Well, fun anyway. Why doesn’t Batman dance anymore?

The resulting trailer is a thrill ride that fits impressively into the hit film. Not only is West cut in very effectively, but the trailer also features the 60s incarnation of the film’s villains. Collin Farell is replaced by Burgess Meredith’s Penguin, and Fran Gorshin “returns” to play the Riddler. We also get to enjoy the classic Batmobile like we’ve never seen her before – catapulting through fire.

Brain Child of Shazam!‘s Sandberg?

Earlier this month, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg posted a quick clip of an Adam West and The Batman mashup. And it’s been tickling us ever since.

And while the Corridor Crew doesn’t mention the tweet, we have no doubt that Sandberg introduced the brilliant idea into the consciousness of Batman fans everywhere. The guys may not have brought it up, but they will walk you through the rest of the production process.

The behind-the-scenes for this mash-up of Adam West and The Batman is pretty fascinating. The guys over at Corridor Crew walk us through the process of lining up each shot. I recommend giving it a watch if you’re even a little interested in graphics.

Fair warning, they do roast the old Batman series a little bit. It’s funny to me that all these guys are hating on the old-school Batman because it’s campy. Kids these days are so into the reality of CG! They just don’t appreciate the art of cheese the way my generation does! Someone needs to grab these boys by the ears and make them sit through a drag show.
