April showers bring May flowers. So make sure you’ve got one of these five spells and the world will bloom.

Ah, Spring. The time of year when the snow has melted, the flowers are budding, and as the saying goes, a youngster’s fancy turns to thoughts of five different spells that will make it rain. It doesn’t even have to be on your wedding day. How’s that for irony?

Control Weather

If you want to control the weather, then Control Weather is honestly your best bet. This spell does exactly what it says on the tin. But that’s fine. It lets you control the weather in a five-mile radius for the next eight hours. When you cast the spell, you can change the weather to suit your needs. The change isn’t instant, it takes 1d4x10 minutes to settle in. But once they do they last as long as you want.

You can adjust everything from the temperature and wind to the amount and kind of precipitation, up to and including driving hail or a blizzard. So if you want to bring the rain, this spell is the way to go.

Create or Destroy Water

Okay but Control Weather is an 8th-level spell. Which means, outside of scrolls, you’ll never actually have it. So how can you accomplish your goal of making it rain every chance you get?

Create or Destroy Water, friends. This spell is 1st level, so you can start off with it if you’re a Cleric or Druid. This spell lets you create up to 10 gallons of water in a single container—OR it falls as rain in a 30-foot cube.

Wall of Water

What if you need a lot more rain than that? Well, Wall of Water is your friend. It’s a 3rd level spell, but it’s well worth taking. It creates a wall of water up to 30 feet long, 10 feet high, and 1 foot thick, or you can create a 20-foot diameter dome of water. It lasts for 10 minutes. In addition to making it rain, it also gives disadvantage to ranged attacks crossing the space and halves any fire damage passing the wall.

For added fun, if you deal cold damage, the wall freezes in place, and if you destroy a frozen section it doesn’t refill with water, so you can basically Minecraft a sculpture out of it.

Want to make even more water in an area? Create Food and Water lets you use one 3rd level spell slot to create 30 gallons of water as well as some snacks.

Control Water

You can also rain on people’s parades indirectly with Control Water. This spell lets you control any freestanding water inside an area you choose–so once you’ve used one of the spells before, you can use Control Water to create a flood. Or to redirect the flow of water, causing it to move up and fall on people. Turn a river into a torrent with a wave of your hands.
