Dungeon Alchemist is a brand-new AI-powered fantasy mapmaking toolset available now. Procedurally generated dungeons await!

As we get further and further into the future, the tools we have for playing D&D get cooler and cooler. We’ve come so far past random tables and name generators (though those are still cool. At the heart of all of it is a single idea. Let the dice decide what happens.

Ultimately that’s what we want. We want to be surprised by what we find around the next door. If the die comes up as 1, we want to know that actually means something. And the line between ‘the dice’ and ‘an AI’ is kind of blurry. Blurrier now because you can work hand in hand with your tools to create what you want. Dungeon Alchemist is the latest evolution of this concept. Launched on March 31st, this new program has a lot of promise for DMs looking to level up their dungeon design.

Dungeon Alchemist – AI-driven Map Making

What is Dungeon Alchemist?

Dungeon Alchemist is AI-powered Fantasy Game Mapmaking Software that enables you to make high-quality content fast! Simply pick a theme, start drawing, and Dungeon Alchemist creates high-quality maps you can print, share, or use in your favourite Virtual Tabletop Application. It uses an AI algorithm to place walls, floors, objects and lighting, so you can focus on being creative.

With just a few clicks, Dungeon Alchemist will conjure a beautiful landscape that will inspire you and your players. You choose the theme of each room, and Dungeon Alchemist will do the rest. Don’t like what you get? Just press the randomize button and Dungeon Alchemist’s AI algorithm will generate ever new rooms for you.

The maps are fully 3D and are navigable through the program or some of your favorite virtual tabletop programs. You can import the maps into Fantasy Grounds and Foundry for sure. And as time goes on, more support is on the way.

Once you’ve created your maps, you can tweak them to your heart’s content. Customize or scale items. Just pick whatever fits in the included themes and you’re good to go.

Over their open beta they’ve added a ton of content. Who can say where they’ll end up–but if you need a map in a hurry, this program is the way to go.
